BEHIND THE DEAL.
The journal approach
Explain the structure. Show the evidence.
Accessible reporting and explanations of deals and capital, with their assumptions and limits close by.
Say which stage and which jurisdiction.
Keep a proposal, a signed agreement, a regulatory step and a completed transaction distinct. Identify the jurisdiction and instrument being explained. A process in one country is not a universal rule.
Follow the cash and the contract.
Show who issues, who sells, who receives proceeds and which contractual terms apply. Label fictional examples and simplify explicitly rather than presenting teaching figures as actual transactions.
Separate reporting and opinion.
Earlier opinion labels and source disclosures stay with their articles. A cited allegation, an official record and a participant’s explanation should remain distinguishable.
Keep the evidence close.
Sources, research notes and material corrections belong with the story. They should help readers understand the reasoning and its limits.
Represent the publication honestly.
Archive bylines and biographies are historical attribution, not a newly verified staff roster. Legal entity, ownership, funding and current contributor details remain pending. A final corrections procedure remains pending.
