Editorial Control and Decision‑Making
Editorial decisions should remain with the people responsible for the post. A commercial arrangement must not buy a conclusion, prevent a supported criticism, or give a sponsor control over unrelated content.
How Investment Banking May Be Funded
Possible publishing revenue includes advertising, sponsorship, licensing, and distribution arrangements. This list does not establish which arrangements the blog has. Any material relationship should be disclosed here and on affected posts.
Conflicts of Interest and Recusals
Contributors should disclose relationships relevant to an assignment, including financial interests, outside work, and family ties. A conflict may require disclosure, reassignment, or declining the post.
- Relevant personal or financial ties should be disclosed internally before publication.
- Gifts, favors, or special access that would compromise independence should not be accepted.
- Outside work, advocacy, or consulting that conflicts with blog independence should be disclosed and may require reassignment.
Commercial Support Does Not Buy Coverage
Readers should be able to identify advertising, sponsored posts, and affiliate relationships where they appear. A general policy page cannot replace a disclosure on the affected content.
Political, Governmental, and Advocacy Influence
Political or advocacy material supplied through a commercial relationship should be labeled accordingly. A relevant relationship between the blog and the subject of a post should be disclosed in plain language.
Changes to Ownership or Material Support
This page should be updated when ownership, control, or material financial support changes. Readers can request clarification of a relationship they believe is missing.
